How to Post on Instagram from your Laptop/ComputerHow to Post on Instagram from your Laptop/Computer

While most of the Social Media platforms do run flawlessly on our Computers, either using a dedicated native app which is installed directly to the computer or else under a web app which requires a web browser to perform, the big social media giants Instagram isn’t yet to deliver such a flawless experience for its users.

As Instagram does not have a fully working native app to run on our computer we have to make use of the Instagram web app with the help of a web browser. Here we are using Google Chrome to get this work done.

So, let us take a look at how to post on Instagram from your Laptop/Computer using Google Chrome Web browser.

Step 1

Open Chrome browser and log on to Instagram Web App using the URL www.instagram.com
Step 2

Right after Instagram web app gets loaded, Login to your Instagram account using your Username and Password.
Step 3

As soon as you have logged in successfully, you could notice a slight difference in the user interface when compared with the regular Instagram app on your smartphone.

And you might be missing the bottom panel which hosts the Add button as well. In order to solve this problem, you have to go to the Inspect Element mode.

Click on the 3 dot button located on the top right corner of your Chrome browser. Click on More Tools > Developer Options.

You can also complete this step using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+I.
Steps 4

Now you can see a new window appearing on the right side of your Chrome browser. Click on the Toggle Device toolbar button to switch your Instagram page to Tablet mode.

You can also do this using the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+M.
Step 5

Almost completed. Right now you can see the interface has been altered to a similar user interface as of your Mobile Instagram app along with the bottom panel appearing with the Add Button. ( If it’s not loaded yet, try reloading the page and you are done). You can make use of the Add button and start posting now.
